Tribute to Tony – London milonga on 9th July
Finally, we get to celebrate the joy which Tony Walker brought into our lives! Tony was well-loved both for organising tango events for Tango on The Thames and elsewhere and for his knowledgeable, enthusiastic DJ-ing, not to mention his wit and sparkle.
The original event we planned was cancelled owing to “circumstances beyond our control”… This is its replacement! And we hope you will come and help us celebrate.
We are grateful to:
– Hernán Brusa & Paula Duarte for providing a class
– Tim Sharp and Alfredo Martin Espindola of Tango Terra for providing live music!
We are delighted that Tony’s sons, Jan and Gunther, will be coming to see something of Tony’s tango world – that’s us – and they will bring a book of photographs so we can get a glimpse of the young Tony.
Bring your own photos of Tony!
If you have any favourite photos of Tony bring them along – or make an A4 print out and bring that.
WE NEED TO PAY THIS TIME..
This time we are obliged to charge to cover costs:
£15 Class + Milonga
£12 Milonga only
You don’t pay till you get to the door – so please register now, even if you are not yet sure – there’s still time to cancel whatever else you had planned and join us in our Tribute to Tony!
We are supporting Charities in Tony’s name. All profits will be split equally between Amnesty International https://www.amnesty.org.uk/ and Barts’ Charity https://bartscharity.org.uk/
MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER!
Heightened security at St Thomas’s means we need to have a list of names at the door and tick your name off when you arrive. This seemed the simplest way to create that list. If you ARE planning to come – please make an expression of interest now, here:
Nearest tubes, Waterloo and Westminster + a brisk 10-minute walk!
