9th Annual Philly Tango Fest May 24-27, 2019

Now in its 9th year, the Philly Tango Fest offers a stupendous array of tango teachers, performers, and musicians, chosen to provide nonstop inspiration for four days/nights over Memorial Day Weekend: Friday, May 24 through the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 28.

Don’t miss the PREMIERE of a new tango orchestra, TIPICA MESSIEZ, the only active “orquesta tipica” in the United States. The new orchestra is led by astoundingly talented pianist-composer-arranger, Emiliano Messiez. We are pretty sure that this is soon going to be your favorite live orchestra to dance to!

In addition to Maestro Messiez, the orchestra features Raul Jaurena (bandoneon), Javier Sánchez (bandoneon), Rodolfo Marcelo Zanetti Vía (bandoneon), Sami Merdinian (violin), Sumire Violet (violin), Nastasja Vojinović (violin), and Pablo Lanouguere (bass).

Last year, we found the perfect venue for our festival, and are excited to return. We will have use of the entire Lithuanian Music Hall Association, and it’s more than 10,000 square feet of program space, during the four days of our festival.
