Experience the magic of Buenos Aires this summer!

Buenos Aires… Mix together a fantastic European heritage, wine and steak elevated to art, fantastic shopping, a frenzied nightlife, and you get Buenos Aires, a cosmopolitan capital which looks somehow strangely familiar, but is unlike any other place on earth. If you already dance tango, chances are, you’ll associate the city with dramatic pictures of tango competitions, intimate nights out at local milongas, and much more.

To help you experience everything Buenos Aires can offer, we’ve packed a lot of activities in our 13-day August trip: tango tuition (lots), milongas (the best), time to wander around, a meal at a peña restaurant and even a day trip out of Bs As! Please note: our trip is appropriate to all levels of dancing, from beginners to advanced – we will adapt to each individual tango experience.

1. World class Tango tuition during your tango holidays

Our programme includes tango (or, should we say, a lot of tango) with world class tango instructors including the Tango World Champions 2008 Cristina Sosa & Daniel Nacucchio, Championship judges Lorena Ermocida & Pancho Martinez, Maxi Cristiani (2013 tango world champion), Jimena Hoeffner & Fernando Carrasco (Metropolitan Champions 2013) as well as the internationally renowned Gisela Natoli & Gustavo Rosas.

Discover all about your class schedule and tango instructors, including profile & videos.

The package also includes tuition for 4 additional group classes to be taken at the most reputable tango academy in Buenos Aires. Whether you want to improve your milonga, your enrosques, and so on, you will be able to achieve your objectives.

2. A LOT of Milonga evenings!

A trip to Buenos Aires would not be complete without going to local milongas. There are so many milongas in town, that the Argentines have invented the word ‘milonguear’, which means ‘touring milongas’! You surely want to know what a ‘cabeceo’ feels like for yourself, not only have read about it…

This is why we’ve planned to go dancing in a lot of different Milongas amongst the most famous ones in the capital! Our programme includes Salon Canning, Los Zucca, Milonguita, la Viruta, la Baldosa… for unforgettable memories (final schedule depending on operating milongas in August 2015). You can read about the most famous milongas in Buenos Aires in our milonga page.

3. Full access to the Buenos Aires Tango Festival and World Championship

In August, the most extravagant and famous tango event in the world takes place in Buenos Aires: the Festival – more than 150 tango related events, concerts, masterclasses, performances, open-air milongas, conferences, pop-up shopping, and much more – is drawing people from all around the world. Two weeks of intense tango and an incredible festive atmosphere all over town! At the same time, the World Tango Championship (‘Mundial de Baile’), sets the scene for couples from all over the world to compete for the Champions title (Salon & Stage).

You will not only have full access to the Tango Festival and its impressive programme, but also get to experience first hand the preliminaries and semi finals of the world championship.

4. Discover Buenos Aires and beyond

Once your tango feet shout ‘Stop!’, you will most likely want to venture beyond the tango halls. For this reason, we’re organising a visit of the most charming barrios of Buenos Aires (La Boca, and Recolleta), as well as an afternoon at the lively San Telmo market, an amazing open air event filled with Arts and Antiques, a bohemian charm, and – of course – Tango music and timelessness.

We will also enjoy a welcome dinner at a peña (a restaurant with folklore music) on your arrival day, and, if you like, even go tango shopping for these amazing new shoes for him or her!

To get a respite from Buenos Aires, we’ll leave the capital to visit Tigre (or San Antonio de Areco, depending on weather conditions), a charming town part of the Delta, stuck in its charming past and that lives through its canals.

And to make it easier for you to travel around town, we are also including 10 bus/tube rides to whizz you around!

5. Accommodation provided: high standard flats

We will stay in high standard studio flats in the amazing barrios of Palermo and Recoleta, filled with trendy bars and restaurants. Your flat is equipped with a full kitchen – a great way to save on eating out if you decide to prepare your own food!

Note: studio flats are booked on double occupancy basis (double bed or twin beds), although you can ask for single occupancy (extra charges apply, please look at our Prices & What’s Included page).

6. Ready to book?

Decided to join us? We’ll be delighted to welcome you as part of our group. Price will depend on when you book your package – the earlier you book, the cheaper it will be. To book your package, simply follow the steps described in our booking page if you have any question or request. We hope to hear from you soon!
