Do you play a musical instrument? How about playing tango? If you’d like to learn about playing tango then come to the Argentine tango music workshop in the Bridport Town Hall Saturday afternoon, 26 March. It’s for singers and instrumental musicians of any kind and will introduce you to playing tango music well. The course runs from 15.00 to 17.30 with a short break and is followed in the evening, 19.30-23.30, by a milonga.

Led by all three practising musicians from Bristol-based Argentine tango trio Tango Calor – Mirek, Juan Carlos and Indira – places are limited to ensure that all participants get good support. It’s essential to book in advance because of this and also because Mirek will prepare teaching materials depending on the particular participants and their instruments. Because this is a great opportunity to learn from accomplished professional musicians, please book in good time.

The evening milonga is also in the Town Hall, a beautiful upstairs room with a great floor, in a Grade 1 listed building right in the centre of Bridport. Tango Calor will play a couple of sets of live music and the musicians who attended the workshop will also be encouraged to play tracks which they’ve been working on. As usual there will be free teas, coffee and soft drinks and a range of complimentary light refreshments such as dips, cakes, biscuits and so on, not to mention Bridport Tango’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
