Just retourn from one unusual event from me  – Queer tango festiva “Russian Drama” organized by Queer tango club from St-Petersburg, dates 1-5 of June this year.

I love that kind of  events and fancy audience as a DJane, it makes me think about something special for cortinas and maked my djing process quiet flexible and I can allow myself to stick unusual tandas to the steam and be sure it will go just right!

So as it went this time. I’ve been invited to rule Gala milonga on Saturday night and the topic was “Swan Lake” (all topics of milongas were dedicated to russian classical pieces of art: literatire, music or history) so I got my swans )) Of course I prepared courtinas from Peter Tchaikovsky ballet “Swan Lake” also mixed it up with modern versions of it from rap compositions like “Save me” by La Cross or OST “Black Swan”. And I hit the night!

I always feel the puls of milonga and I presume DJ is the one who give the puls to milonga in very start and keep it beating till the end, giving a break to audience from time to time, so the won’t get exhausted and then rush them to the dance floor again with another magic potion of music! This time I gave a lot of tandas with beautiful and passionate vocals of Laroca, Castillo, Bermudes, Podesta, Duran. That noble men rised the athmospher to exact grade of passion and lyrical drama: all what audience was up for! And so they danced!

Apart from all I want to mention the show of Juan Pablo Ramirez and Daniel Arroya Miranda! That was something to wait for! (example of their performance is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NFhfBD14B8) Geniouses of performance, real bourlesque show and perfect tango technic with virtuos foot work! Impressive! Hope this guys will come to Moscow sometime soon, I’d love to see them again!

Few words about organizers! It’s a bunch of young lovely girls apsessed with tango! And it’s because of their passion to argentin tango that festival happened already second time. I’d be glad if I’d be asked to join them again! It was such a pleasure!
