Day 3 of the festival arrived swiftly!
Workshops continued at the now frequented Theatre Academy. The Afternoon Milonga in the lovely room down the corridor was held captive by the DJ Bernt Andreas Drange and went on until 1900. Then all and sundry disappeared ‘home’ to rest and return for the evenings very special Gala Night.
The Gala Night, held at the Vanha Ylioppilastalo (Old Student House), was magnificent. Arched windows reached high up into an expansive ceiling while motion lighting sprinkled the large wooden dancefloor with an array of colours. At the far end, a stage, and there, the very celebrated Tango Solo Orchestra from Russia, who were in fine form and made this night all that it was. Meanwhile, renowned DJ Victor Ariel Yuryevic played some of the best for the dancers packing the ronda. It was beautiful, compelling, magical.
At last, the much anticipated moment for Horacio Godoy & Magdalena Gutierrez to perform. Frankly. Awesome. One forgets to breath. Later in the evening everyone was treated to yet a second performance by the dashing and very talented young artists, Javier Rodriguez & Noelia Barsi.
For those that wanted to really get down to the business of dancing, the Afterparty commenced immediately after the Gala, was just a short walk away and went on until dawn.
Indeed, a night to remember.
