I think that the art of capturing beautiful moments boils down to simply being ready to shoot in the right place at the right time!
It’s been two years since my last visit to Buenos Aires and for a second I didn’t recognise this traditional milonga. With a little bit of wall-paint, brand new paintings and multi-colour spotlights, this room has been truly transformed. Salon Canning (Milonga Parakultural) is famous for its high-quality polished dancefloor and great acoustics. It’s a great place to take visitors who enjoy watching performances and occasionally dancing to live music.
Despite my late arrival to Milonga Prakultural (2am Friday morning), I was just in time to capture this sensational image of the performance of Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbau. I love every detail in this picture; the movement of Gloria’s skirt and the squared off dancefloor surrounded by many tangueros and tangueras who were completely enjoying the performance to name a few. For me, this picture truly reflects the atmosphere of Salon Canning – and who knows… maybe one day this picture will be turned into a painting and hung on wall of the Salon Canning! A wonderful and poignant memory.
