Negracha Tango Club London - The Last Final Milonga in Holborn - 09/02/2018

The era of Negracha at 4 Wild Court, Holborn, has finally come to an end. The local milonga has been the go-to place to dance tango in London on Friday nights for some 14 years, presenting performances by world renowned tango artists, orchestras and DJ’s until the early hours of the morning.

4 Wild Court has been the home of social dance nights, classes and other theatrical activities for many years and those who dance can easily say they took their first steps on those old worn-out floor boards dancing jive, swing, salsa and tango amongst others.

Rumour has it that the building will be torn down and replaced by a shiny new hotel… A pity for tango.. A pity for the dance community.. A pity for London..

Negracha will continue to run at different locations around the city until a more permanent home is found and we wish Ivan Arandia and the team all the best in finding a new address for London’s much-loved Friday night milonga.

Shall we take a final walk through the doors of Negracha at Wild Court? Thanks to Anthony Lee for the video memory!

This story is inaccurate. Yes, Negracha’s current location has closed, however it will continue to be a weekly Friday night Milonga in different locations across London until the team finds a more permanent location. By implying that it has completely closed you are doing a disservice to the organisers who rely on people attending this event. Just because it will no longer be in wild Court does not mean that it will no longer be! – Read

Rita Horne (Author) responded:

Many thanks for your comment. It is not our intention to imply anything other than that “Negracha as we know it at 4 Wild Court” has closed. We most definitely do not intend any disservice to the organisers or the London Tango Community as you have suggested. Perhaps the wording has been misunderstood? To ensure clarity a paragraph has been added. – Read
