The Programme for Havana Buenos Aires Classical Latin Music Festival 2018

Havana Buenos Aires is a new festival of classical, traditional and contemporary latin american music curated by operatic soprano Ann Liebeck and bandoneonist and composer Julian Rowlands.

DAY 1:
Tangos for Angels and Demons 20 years of Tango Siempre July 17th.

This concert marks 20 years of the UK’s leading tango ensemble, Tango Siempre. The programme will feature compositions by Tango Siempre alongside classics from the golden age of tango and the nuevo tango repertoire. Special guest soprano Ann Liebeck will perform some of Astor Piazzolla greatest arias and vocal ballads.

DAY 2
Cubana Clásica – A Night at the Opera in Havana July 18th

Cubana Clásica features Marcos Madrigal, one of Cuba’s most brilliant young concert pianists and the artistic director of www.habanaclasic.com, and special guest Omar Puente, the UK’s top
classical/jazz violinist and LUKAS award winner. The programme includes music by classic Cuban zarzuela composers Gonzalo Roig and Rodrigo Prats, and by Academy-award nominated Ernesto Lecuona, described as the George Gershwin of Cuba.

FEATURING:

The two day festival will feature new music by Julian Rowlands, and by two multi Grammy award winning composers: LA based Cuban Yalil Guerra, and NY based Argentinian Fernando Otero.
