Jimena Hoeffner & Fernando Carrasco
Jimena and Fernando are known for the warmth and elegance of their embrace. Both cherish, in the most fundamental sense, the essence of tango. This love is reflected in both their teaching and in the connection of their dance. They started dancing together in 2012, maintaining their relationship with exhibitions in the milongas of Buenos Aires. In the same year they traveled to Dubai representing the “Esquina Carlos Gardel”. In 2013 Jimena and Fernando became the first ever couple to be crowned Triple Champions of the Buenos Aires Metropoliano Championship, taking First in the categories of Milonga, Waltz, and Tango. A few months later they achieved 2nd place in the Tango World Championships. In 2014 they will be going on their first international tour together to Europe and Indonesia.
Lola Diaz & Fabian Salas
Fabián Salas – Tireless researcher and maestro, remarkable dancer and connoisseur of the secrets of tango, Fabián Salas has brought light to old beliefs and opened new ways in the conception of the dance, creating an unmistakable style of dancing the Tango. Fabián Salas was a member of the original cast (1994-1995) of the award-winning (Best Musical) argentine tango show “Gotán”, and also performed in the stage show “El Patio de la Morocha” (1993-1994) at the “Teatro Municipal General San Martin” in Buenos Aires. In 1997, he became one of the three principal dancers in the award-winning movie – “The Tango Lesson” and is now the organizer of the Congreso Internacional de Tango Argentino (CITA) which brings together, in Buenos Aires, all the tango lovers, practitioners, and the most representative artists of Argentine Tango.
Lola Diaz – Lola has been dancing since she was 5 years old and has enjoyed an education in classical and modern ballet. Until 2002 she danced as a ballerina in the ensemble of the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. She has been teaching in at La Viruta, Buenos Aires. Lola has partnered and choreographed with Pablo Veron until 2007. From 2009 Lola has been working and teaching worldwide with Fabian Salas.
Tango Festival DJ’s 2014
DAY 1 – THE HEATS VICTOR ARIEL YURYEVIC Born in Argentina and now living in Spain, Victor joins us for Day 1 of the festival.
DAY 2 – THE SEMI FINALS MARCELO ROJAS Since 1990s Marcelo began to establish a unique personal style and taste, DJ’ing in many milongas and events throughout Buenos Aires, Argentina and across the world.
DAY 3 – THE FINALS DJ NAOKO Naoko’s DJ set is known for “100% Bailable” and her music gives a natural incentive to dance non-stop. She is a truly intuitive DJ who uses all senses to create the best atmosphere.
