Get To Know The Tango Pioneers series is an easy-to-read presentation of facts (from a multitude of primary sources) about the origins and development of the art form that is tango (music & dance)and those that helped it along the way. The resulting picture is surprising and exposes many of the myths, misunderstandings, and muddles we have all come to accept and repeat as fact.
With all of the understandable focus on the recording orchestras of the 1930s to 1960s there is a real risk that today’s tango story will forget about those that created the genre, an created much of the music that we still enjoy today. We owe those tango pioneers a great deal and these books (Volumes 1,2,and 3) give them the recognition and heart-felt gratitude that they deserve. The success of our favourite orchestras is thanks to them – Di Sarli, D’Arienzo, Troilo, Pugliese etc all became visible by standing on the shoulders of those pioneer giants.
The books are filled with rare images and have QR codes that take you directly to the linked YouTube Channel so that you can READ, LISTEN, and WATCH. They are more than books, they are a multi-media experience.
They are available for purchase on the author’s website and on Amazon in 15 territories around the world.
